DEADLY SCHOOL MASSACRE – A POEM, A PRAYER, A SONG OF HOPE
deranged vengeful killer
innocent lives senselessly and horrendously snatched away
incomprehensible shattered pieces everywhere
GOD WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Dear Heavenly Father, touch and comfort the families, friends and colleagues of the murder victims, especially the parents, siblings and classmates of the children whose lives were so tragically lost. Let them know Your loving presence in a special way as they wade through their grief, shock, anger and questions. Bring healing to their minds, bodies, souls and spirits like only You can in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
(Psalms 34:18 – NIV, 1984)
“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”
(Psalms 147:3 – NIV, 1984)
“My soul is weary with sorrow; strengthen me according to your word.”
(Psalms 119:28 – NIV, 1984)

Amen to that. Hopefully some good will come from this terrible tragedy, but I still wish it could have never happened.

Yes David……..it’s really hard to wrap one’s head around such happenings on one level, but when one looks at it through the light of the scriptures, it’s a reminder of the reality that we liven a fallen world, riddled with sickness and sin, and the presence of evil influences on the behavior of human beings is very real.

Yes, violence is nothing new, unfortunately. Limiting access to guns might help, but it won’t solve the root problem of sin.

Yes, I totally agree, it might help somewhat but legislation can’t change the heart of man.
