THE IMPORTANCE OF A KINGDOM MINDSET

THE IMPORTANCE OF A KINGDOM MINDSET

To be an effective Kingdom Ambassador, it is important for you to have a Kingdom mindset.

As Kingdom Citizens, our main purpose is to co-work with God in carrying out His Kingdom agenda, the key components of which are:-

a) That mankind be reconciled unto Himself through Christ and become Christ-like (relationship)

b) That mankind has dominion over the earthly realm in accordance with His will, purposes and plans as outlined in His Word/The Holy Bible (rulership).

Both of these components essentially encapsulate His Kingdom coming and His will being done on earth as it is in heaven.

In order for us to partner with God in carrying out His Kingdom agenda, it is necessary that we have a Kingdom mindset.

What is a Kingdom Mindset?

A Mindset is:

  • A fixed mental attitude or disposition that predetermines or decides in advance a person’s responses to and interpretations of situations. – American Heritage Dictionary.

The Kingdom is:

  • The rule of God
  • The territory governed by God
  • The realm in which God’s will, purposes, plans, and desires are fulfilled

Considering these definitions, we can define a Kingdom mindset as:

A fixed mental attitude or disposition ruled by God, i.e., governed by His perspective, will, purposes, plans and desires, that predetermines or decides in advance a person’s responses to and interpretations of situations.

So breaking it into its three key components, a kingdom mindset:

 1) Is a fixed mental attitude or disposition

 2) It is ruled by God, i.e., governed by His perspective, will, purposes, plans and desires

 3) It predetermines or decides in advance a person’s responses to and interpretations of situations.

In order for us to effectively partner with God in carrying out His Kingdom agenda we need to have a Kingdom mindset; we need to have a fixed mental attitude or disposition ruled by Him, i.e., governed by His perspective, will, purposes, plans and desires, that predetermines or decides in advance our responses to and interpretations of situations.

Think about it for a moment? How can we even begin to be effective co-workers with God in carrying out His Kingdom agenda if our minds are not open and predisposed to His position on and will in the situations that we encounter on the earth?

Proverbs 23:7 tells us that as a man thinks, so is he. This means that our thoughts precede our behavior. So, if we are not for God and the things of God in our minds, if we are not submitted to Him in our minds, if we are not embracing the reality of His Kingdom and our heavenly citizenship in our minds, if we are not desirous of knowing and doing His will, purpose, principles and plans in our minds, if we are not yielded to His lordship in our minds, then we can not be effective in partnering with Him as His Kingdom representatives.

Saints let’s get real. How can we be effective co-workers with God in carrying out His Kingdom agenda if we are not familiar with His will, purposes, plans and desires, or are familiar and do not allow our thoughts and subsequently our actions to be governed by the same?

As Kingdom Ambassadors, we are representatives of the Kingdom of Heaven in the earth and as such, the only position that we are to take on an issue or matter is that of our King. How can we do this if we do not have His mindset, and if we do have it, we refuse to be governed by it?

Take a moment and prayerfully reflect on your life.

For the most part, whose mindset are you operating from?

Are you operating from the world’s mindset, from the enemy’s mindset, from your personal mindset, from God’s Kingdom mindset or a blended mishmash of all depending on the nature of the situations that you face?

Ask the Holy Spirit to enlighten you in this regard?

Whose mindset are you operating from?

Fellow Believers, God desires that we possess and operate from a Kingdom mindset, from a fixed mental attitude or disposition ruled by Him, i.e., that is governed by His perspective, will, purposes, plans and desires, and that predetermines or decides in advance our responses to and interpretations of situations.

It is essential that we believe, receive and implement this foundational truth if we are to be effective Kingdom Ambassadors, partnering with Him in advancing His Kingdom in the earth.

To be an effective Kingdom Ambassador, it is important for you to have a Kingdom mindset.

Be encouraged!
