TO MOTHERS WITH A WAYWARD CHILD
You look in dismay at your wayward child,
And wonder, how on earth did he/she get so wild,
When from a small babe upon your knee,
You taught and trained him/her biblically.
You hang your head down in guilt and shame,
You feel like somehow you are to blame,
“Friends” gossip meanly behind your back,
People point their fingers in scornful attack.
Your heart pains and severely aches,
The thoughts in your mind rock you like an earthquake,
You say, Lord Jesus this is too much stress,
But Woman of God, you have to press.
God sees each one of your many tears,
He hears each one of your many prayers,
He feels the weight of your deepest sighs,
He’s touched by the shrill of your anguished cries.
Don’t give up Woman of God, keep standing on His Word,
Don’t give up Woman of God, know you are heard,
Thank and praise Him in advance for the needed change,
Even though it may feel, wierd, silly or strange.
Keep your faith alive and don’t yield to doubt,
Believe deep in your soul God is working things out,
He’s all-knowing, all-powerful, so no matter what you see,
He’s more than able to set your son/daughter free.
So shake yourself mighty warrior and arise,
Set your face like flint, fix your eyes on the prize,
War in the Spirit and in God’s time you will see,
Through Jesus Christ you’ll have the victory.
