GOOD NEWS……………..YOU ARE GIFTED!

GOOD NEWS……………YOU ARE GIFTED!

There's a Gift in You

Have you ever looked at someone displaying their gift and thought to yourself, “Wow, I wish I could do that!” or felt on the inside, “Look at what they can do, I wish I was gifted at something”?

I think most of us have at some point or the other in our  lives.

But guess what?

There is no need to look at another person and covet their gift or to wish you were gifted at something because whether you recognize it or not, you are gifted.

Romans 12:6-8 states:-

“In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing  certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out  with as much faith as God has given you.

7 If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well.

8 If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing  kindness to others, do it gladly.” (NLT)

I Corinthians 12:7-11 states:-

“A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other.

8To one person the Spirit gives the ability to give wise advice; to another the same Spirit gives a message of special knowledge.

9 The same Spirit gives great faith to another, and to someone else the one Spirit gives the gift of healing.

10 He gives one person the power to perform miracles, and another the ability to prophesy. He gives someone else the ability to discern whether a message is from the Spirit of God or from another spirit. Still another person is given the ability to speak in unknown languages, while another is given the ability to interpret what is being said.

11It is the one and only Spirit who distributes all these gifts. He alone decides which gift each person should have.” (NLT)

What good news!

As a member of the Body of Christ, you are gifted!

Me?

Yes you.

The scriptures are clear, God has given everyone in the Body of Christ at least one gift, and that includes you!

Never again do you have to look at someone displaying their gift and think “Wow, I wish I could do that!” or feel on the inside, “Look at what they can do; I wish I was gifted at something”?

You are gifted too so embrace this truth and be free today!

But wait, there is more good news.

Not only are you gifted, but according to I Corinthians 12:11 it is God alone that decided what gift you should have.

It is God Himself that looked at you then according to His divine purposes and the plans He has for your life, determined which gift is best suited for you.

This means that no matter how great or small your gift is in anyone else’s eyes, you don’t ever have to feel ashamed of it, to belittle it or to allow anyone to de-value it in any way because it has been custom-designed by God just for you………praise His name!

Know, recognize and understand that the gift God has placed in you is of great value.

Cherish it and never allow the world, flesh or devil to abuse it or to diminish its greatness in your mind, especially through the vice of comparison, the vice of comparing it with someone else’s gift and then believing the lie that your gift does not measure up to some fictitious standard so you should not use it.

Listen, if God produced a gift then placed it in you, no matter what anyone thinks or says, including you, that gift is more than adequate to produce everything that He has determined for it to bring forth in and through you.

The work is to believe.

So today, believe the good news that you are gifted.

Celebrate the good news that you are gifted.

Praise and thank the Lord that you are gifted.

Then ask the Lord to help you:-

1)  Discover your gift.

2) Cherish your gift.

3) Develop your gift.

4) Use your gift.

And most importantly, to do all of this with a view to building the Body of Christ and advancing the Kingdom of God wherever you are, all to His honor and glory.

Be encouraged!
