IT’S TIME TO SACRIFICE “IT”

IT’S TIME TO SACRIFICE “IT”

You must take up your cross and follow Christ to be HIs disciple.

IT’S TIME TO SACRIFICE “IT”

Good morning.

Good morning Lord.

We need to talk.

Talk?

Yes talk.

Talk about what?

Talk about “it”.

Talk about “it”?

Yes, talk about “it”.

“It”?

Yes “it”…… the thing that stands between you and Me.

The thing that stands between You and me…….What thing?

You know the thing?

No, what thing?

The thing I’ve been convicting you about…you know the thing you’ve been holding on to for a long time that you enjoy but that you know grieves my Spirit because “it” is not of Me…….

Oh, that thing……sigh!

Yes, that thing…..that’s “it”.

Sigh!

Listen, it’s time to deal with that thing. It’s time to walk away from “it”, it’s time to cut “it” off, it’s time to let “it” go, it’s time to get rid of “it”.

But Lord it’s not that simple. I’m tied to “it” because a part of me likes “it” and does not want to let “it” go even though I know “it” grieves You.

I know, that’s why I’m asking you to sacrifice “it”….all sacrifices cost something; all sacrifices require dying to some degree of pleasure and embracing some degree of pain.

But sacrificing “it” will hurt, really hurt; sacrificing “it” will tear at the very fabric of my soul; sacrificing “it” will cause my heart to bleed, I don’t know if I can do without “it” in my life!

Yes, I know sacrificing “it” will hurt, tear at your soul and cause your heart to bleed and leave a void in you life, as a matter of fact it will feel like a part of you has died because a part of you will die, but that’s the price.

Lord that is such a great price!

Yes, I know but it is necessary that you pay this price for there is no other way. It’s time to deny yourself, take up your cross, put “it” on the altar and sacrifice “it” to Me.

Sigh!

Yes I know even thinking about sacrificing “it” hurts, but do you not think I hurt knowing that you love “it” more than you love Me?

Wow…..I didn’t see “it” that way…….You are right. Willfully holding on to “it” does mean that I love “it” more that I love You………SIGH!

Yes that’s right and this pains Me more than you will ever know.

SIGH!

Listen. It’s time to get rid of “it” because “it” stands between you and a closer fellowship with Me, “it” stands between you and a greater manifestation of My anointing in and through you, “it” stands between you and the next phase of My purpose and destiny for your life, “it” stands between you and the blessing I desire to release upon you……..the bottom line is that “it” is jeopardizing your future with Me……is “it” really worth all of this?

Okay I recognize the seriousness of holding on to “it” but Lord I don’t know if I can sacrifice “it”.

I thought you said you can do all things through Me because I strengthen you. Do you still believe that?

Well, yes.

Can you believe that in this situation.

Well, yes.

Listen. You have My power within you to not only enable you to let go of “it”, but to also enable you to deal with anything that arises in your life as a result of no longer having “it”…..do you believe this?

Yes I do.

So, are you willing to pay the price? Are you willing to sacrifice “it” to Me?

Yes Lord.

Okay.

Lord, because You mean more to me than “it” and I truly love You and desire to please You, I confess “it” as a sin in my life and I ask You to forgive me for indulging in “it”. In obedience to You, I now renounce “it” and I lay “it” on the altar as a sacrifice to You and declare that every bond, connection and soul-tie between me and “it” is broken in Jesus’ Name. Lord I humbly ask that You change my heart so that “it” is no longer a desire to me. I thank you for Your divine enabling power to help me deal with all repercussions that may occur as a result of getting rid of “it” and I trust you to give me Your peace, wisdom, and strength as I move forward with You, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

What is your “it” that the Lord is speaking to you about today?

A habit? A relationship? A “secret” indulgence? A business/job? A means of income?

Be obedient and sacrifice “it” today”

Selah!

Kim

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

(Philippians 4:13 – NKJV)

“If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

(I John 1:9 – NKJV)

“Then Jesus said to His disciples, If anyone desires to be My disciple, let him deny himself [disregard, lose sight of, and forget himself and his own interests] and take up his cross and follow Me [cleave steadfastly to Me, conform wholly to My example in living and, if need be, in dying, also].

For whoever is bent on saving his [temporal] life [his comfort and security here] shall lose it [eternal life]; and whoever loses his life [his comfort and security here] for My sake shall find it [life everlasting].

For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his life [his blessed life in the kingdom of God]? Or what would a man give as an exchange for his [blessed] life [in the kingdom of God]?”

(Matthew 16:24-26 – Amplified Bible)

  1. God was just talking to me about taking up the cross this morning. He told me “I know it seems counterintuitive but the way of the cross is the way to abundant life, joy, prosperity and peace.”

  2. Hi Pastor “J”…isn’t it interesting how God often uses a variety of media to get the same message to us…..He is good….\o/….blessings!…Kim

  3. That moment of acceptance and surrender can be really hard to come to, but experience shows it’s for the best and that God’s way is always best. Great job.
I feel like I haven’t talked to you in a while. I’ve been out of town, doing some hiking because of a long holiday so I’m just getting back into the swing of things and trying to catch up. I hope everything is going well there.

  4. Hey David….your comment is so true…..I’m glad the post was a blessing to you…:) And no, we haven’t talked for a while but all is well thanks……with the new school year always comes extra busyness as my kids get back in the groove and resume their extra-cirricular activities etc. so I’m still adjusting to the new schedule and kind of behind in my blog visits and email responses etc., but I’m getting there…:) Sounds like you had a great holiday and things are going well for you….God is good!…nice hearing from you and I will visit the Green Walled Tower soon……:) Multiplied blessings upon you and your wife as you continue to grow in and serve the Lord…Shalom, Kim
