“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.”

(Ecclesiastes 3:1 – KJV)

Good afternoon to all my WordPress Family, Twitter followers, Email Subscribers and Readers!

As indicated in my recent post, “Change is Calling”, at one time “Unwalled” fit in my spirit well and a grace was upon me to maintain it, but things have shifted, and continuing with it as in the past has become like trying to squeeze into that favorite old garment that just won’t fit anymore.

I’ve sought God’s wisdom on the matter and after much prayer have concluded that the time has come for “Unwalled” as in its present form to end.

My 7-year journey with “Unwalled” has been an enriching experience that afforded me the honor of connecting with and touching the lives of many persons around the world, and for that, I am forever grateful.

My heartfelt thanks goes out to each follower, subscriber and visitor around the globe; your support, comments, and words of encouragement over the years are very much appreciated.

Thanks also for sharing my content via email, re-blogging and the various social media platforms enabling even more lives to be blessed.

I want to also thank those of you who shared your heartaches, challenges, problems, goals and dreams with me; I count your openness as a  privilege and feel blessed to have been able to help you in some way.

Most of all, I thank God for His grace and faithfulness because without Him, there would be no “Unwalled”.

I will not delete “Unwalled”, but will let it remain published so that the Lord can continue to use it to encourage, edify and inspire others who stop by in the future.

What’s next for me re blogging?

Will it be another blog?

Will it be a total revision and transformation of “Unwalled”?

I’m not quite sure yet, but for now, this chapter is closed.

Again, thank you for your support over the years and understanding.

I’ll leave you with the following words of encouragement:

“Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own.

Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track.

Don’t assume that you know it all.

Run to God! Run from evil!

Your body will glow with health, your very bones will vibrate with life!

Honor God with everything you own; give him the first and the best.
Your barns will burst, your wine vats will brim over.

But don’t, dear friend, resent God’s discipline;
don’t sulk under his loving correction.
It’s the child he loves that God corrects; a father’s delight is behind all this.”

(Proverbs 3:5-12 – The Message Bible)

Peace, love and blessings to all,

Tonight God says to remember, I AM.

To you who are reeling in mental turmoil…

He says, remember, I AM your peace.

To you who are smothering under a blanket of depression…

He says, remember, I AM your joy.

To you who are in financial duress not knowing where the next dollar is coming from…

He says, remember, I AM your provider.

To you who are confused, perplexed and wondering what to do…

He says, remember, I AM your wisdom.

To you who are burdened down by a bad decision…

He says, remember, I AM the glory and the lifter up of your head.

To you who are stuck and see no way out of your situation…

He says, remember, I AM your waymaker.

To you who are sick in your body…

He says, remember, I AM your healer.

To you who are weak…

He says, remember, I AM your strength.

To you who are bound…

He says, remember, I AM your deliverer

To you who are in despair…

He says, remember, I AM your hope.

To you who are in mourning…

He says, remember, I AM your comforter.

To you who are suffering loss…

He says, remember, I AM your restorer.

Today God says to remember I AM

Whatever you need…I AM that.

“And Moses said to God, Behold, when I come to the Israelites and say to them, The God of your fathers has sent me to you, and they say to me, What is His name? What shall I say to them?

14 And God said to Moses, I Am Who I Am and What I Am, and I Will Be What I Will Be; and He said, You shall say this to the Israelites: I Am has sent me to you!

15 God said also to Moses, This shall you say to the Israelites: The Lord, the God of your fathers, of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, has sent me to you! This is My [c]name forever, and by this name I am to be remembered to all generations.”

Once again the Bahamas is on the verge of another general election and so-called “election fever” is beginning to permeate the air.

Almost everywhere you turn, people are talking politics or predicting who the next government and Prime Minister will be. The atmosphere is filled with opinions and political prophets abound.

With all the noise, fanfare and emotional hullabaloo in the marketplace, on the airwaves and on social media, and with upcoming rallies on the horizon, there are plenty opportunities for God’s people to become caught up in the political whirlwind and lose focus of our electorate responsibility as Believers/Kingdom Citizens.

The direction that a nation takes and the manner in which it is built is greatly influenced by its governmental leaders.

Proverbs 29:2 states, “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan.” – (NKJV)

Proverbs 28:12 states, “When the godly are in authority, the people rejoice. But when the wicked are in power, they groan.” – (NLT)

Considering the above, it is incumbent upon us as Believers/Kingdom Citizens to use our voting privileges to, as much as possible elect godly men and women to office, and therefore as key authorities and primary decision makers in our country’s affairs.

This is extremely important for many reasons, a few being:

  • The more godly persons in positions of governmental authority, the more likely a country to retain or even expand its degree of religious freedom.
  • The more godly persons in office, the less likely the implementation of laws that oppose godly principles.
  • The more godly persons in positions of governmental authority, the easier it will be for the God’s/the King’s agenda to go forward and be established in a nation.
  • As Kingdom Citizens, we are called to obey and be subject to civil authorities (Romans 13:1, 2; I Peter 2:13-14; Titus 3:1) and it will more than likely be easier to obey godly authorities than ungodly ones.

When faced with the opportunity to exercise our voting privilege, it is our responsibility as Believers/Kingdom Citizens to carefully and prayerfully consider the presented candidates and where possible to seek to elect competent, godly men and women who not only have the potential to improve our national development, but who will also seek to be guided by God’s principles and establish His purposes.

The following are some facts about us as Believers that will help us maintain a Kingdom perspective during a political season.

1) As Believers, we are citizens of the Kingdom of Heaven and therefore foreigners in this earthly realm.

2) Our spiritual citizenship in God’s Kingdom is higher than, and therefore takes precedence over our earthly citizenship, i.e., our Bahamian citizenship.

3) As citizens of the Kingdom of God, our ultimate allegiance, or loyalty is to be to God as our Sovereign King.

4) The Constitution of our Kingdom is the Word of God, therefore we are to govern every aspect of our lives according to the principles contained therein. The Word of God is our supreme law and we are to obey it above all others.

5) As Kingdom Citizens, we have been appointed as ambassadors of the King. We live in the country that we do because He has called us to be His representatives/agents in that particular earthly territory.

6) As Kingdom Ambassadors, we relinquish all rights to present and act on our own personal opinions. The only position we are to take on an issue is that of our Government or King. We are to yield to and uphold the position of the King and to readily advance His Kingdom’s agenda in whichever arena or capacity we may function.

7) As Kingdom Ambassadors, our main mission is to make disciples of all nations and to expand God’s Kingdom on the earth. The cause of Christ is what we ought to live for and what we should be prepared to die for.

People of God, during this election season, more than ever before, we need to be intentionally mindful not to become so caught up in the political frenzy that we become unfocused and lose sight of our Kingdom responsibility and allow someone or something other than God to decide our involvement in the electoral process.

Because it’s election time, there is an abundance of voices in the atmosphere vying for our attention and support, and it’s okay to hear them, but at the end of the day, as Ambassadors in a foreign territory we must settle ourselves, be sober, and listen for the voice of our King…for His opinion, His desire, His instruction.

In John 10:27, Jesus, our King, and Sovereign Ruler states,My sheep listen to my voice; I know them and they follow me.” – (NIV-1984)

Jesus is our master mentor and one thing that stands out in His life is His obedience to the Father.

In John 5:30 He states, “I am able to do nothing from Myself [independently, of My own accord-but only as I am taught by God and as I get His orders]. Even as I hear, I judge [I decide as I am bidden to decide. As the voice comes to Me, so I give a decision], and My judgment is right (just, righteous), because I do not seek or consult My own will [I have no desire to do what is pleasing to Myself, My own aim, My own purpose] but only the will and pleasure of the Father Who sent Me.– (Amplified Bible)

God desires us to seek His will regarding our voting decision and to vote for the person He confirms in our spirit as the candidate to vote for.

Remember, as Kingdom Ambassadors, the only position we are to take on an issue or matter is that of our Government or King…it’s tight, but it’s right!

If the Lord leads you to vote for the candidate that you in and of yourself want to vote for, great!

But what if this is not the case?

What if He leads you to vote for someone who you do not want to support?

  • What if as a diehard PLP you distinctly and unmistakably sense Him telling you to vote for the FNM candidate?
  • What if as a diehard FNM you distinctly and unmistakably sense Him telling you to vote for the DNA candidate?
  • Or, what if you are a diehard DNA and you distinctly and unmistakably sense Him telling you to vote for the PLP?

Remember, as Kingdom Citizens and Ambassadors, our allegiance is to be to the King and not to any party, organization or man.

Saints, many claim to be “the man with the plan” but in reality, only God knows what is best for our nation because He alone knows the past, present and future so the bottom line is it is best to go with His leading; it’s best to go with Him.

Isaiah 30:1-3 states, “Woe to the obstinate children,” declares the LORD, “to those who carry out plans that are not mine, forming an alliance, but not by my Spirit, heaping sin upon sin; who go down to Egypt without consulting me; who look for help to Pharaoh’s protection, to Egypt’s shade for refuge. But Pharaoh’s protection will be to your shame, Egypt’s shade will bring you disgrace.” – (NIV-1984)

I pray that in this 2017 election, Believers/Kingdom Citizens in the Bahamas will be sober and spiritually discerning and have the wisdom to seek the Lord re who to vote for, and once revealed, by God’s grace have the spiritual fortitude to obey and mark his/her “X” wherever the Lord says, trusting in His wisdom, sovereignty and power and not in man’s words.

“Do not put your trust in princes, in mortal men, who cannot save.”

(Psalms 46:3 – NIV-1984)

“It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in man.”

(Psalms 118:8 – NIV-1984)

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”

(Proverbs 3:5, 6 – NIV-1984)

“Yet you, Lord, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.”

(Isaiah 64:8 – NIV, 1984)

Have you ever gone through times when you wondered, “What in the world is happening in my life?”; times when situations, circumstances, opportunities or the lack thereof, perspectives, people, places, and things just do not add up?

Well this afternoon I came across this short video called “In the Potter’s Hands” by Pastor Steve Hill that I believe may shed some light on your perplexity and be a blessing to you.

“This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord: “Go down to the potter’s house, and there I will give you my message.” So I went down to the potter’s house, and I saw him working at the wheel. But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him. Then the word of the Lord came to me: “O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter does?” declares the Lord. “Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand, O house of Israel.”

(Jeremiah 18:1-6 –NIV, 1984)

“Woe to him who quarrels with his Maker, to him who is but a potsherd among the potsherds on the ground. Does the clay say to the potter, ‘What are you making?’
Does your work say, ‘He has no hands’?”

(Isaiah 45:9 – NIV, 1984)

Now be blessed by Darlene Zschech and Hillsong as they sing “The Potters Hand”.

“But who are you, O man, to talk back to God? “Shall what is formed say to him who formed it, ‘Why did you make me like this?’ Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for noble purposes and some for common use?”

(Romans 9:20-21)

“We are assured and know that [God being a partner in their labor] all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good to and for those who love God and are called according to [His] design and purpose.”

(Romans 8:28 – Amplified Bible)

Trust and obey.

So many bad decisions.

So many stupid mistakes.

So many empty relationships.

So many failures.

So many times of saying I’ll never do it again, only to do it again.

So many broken promises.

So many lost opportunities.

So many dashed hopes.

So many pointless dreams.

So many disappointments.

So much abuse.

So much rejection.

So much heartache.

So much discouragement.

So much pain

So much darkness

So much bondage.

So much aloneness.

Tears, tears.

Where can I turn?

Tears, lots of tears.

Who can help me?

There’s no one here.

I can’t take this anymore.

What’s the point.

Deep despair.

I may as well end it all.

Deeper despair.

My life does not matter.

Utter despair.

I will end it all.

Why is this name coming to my mind?

Why do I keep hearing “Jesus”?

Who is Jesus?

I vaguely remember overhearing Paula talking to Steve during lunch last week about this guy called Jesus.

Yes, I vaguely remember her saying something like this Jesus was the Son of God and He loved people so much He gave His life for them.

It’s kind of coming back.

Now I remember.

She said that this Jesus guy was the Son of God and He came down from heaven to earth and died on a cross to pay the price for all the bad stuff or sin people have done and then He rose from the dead and whoever believes this can have eternal life and a future with Him.

She said if you believe this, Jesus will wash all your sins away and you will be a new creation and have a new beginning, and God knows I need a new beginning.

Paula sounded so convinced of this stuff.

Maybe I need this Jesus.

Maybe I should call on him.

What do I have to lose?

Jesus, can you hear me?

If you’re real please help me.

Please come and lift me out of  this dark pit.

Please forgive me of my sins.

Please cleanse me.

Please heal me.

Please break these chains from off of my life.

Please mend the shattered pieces of my heart.

Please restore hope to me.

Please give me a reason to live.

Please come to me.

Please touch me.

I believe you can.

Somehow I know you can.

Please touch me now and I know I’ll be free.

Please do it for me.

I know you can do it for me.

Something just  happened.

Something really happened.

The weight.

The heaviness.

The darkness.

It’s gone!

It’s all gone!

It’s really gone!

I feel so light!

I feel so pure!

I feel so clean!

You are real!

You are really real!

And You must love me!

You must really love me!

You’ve  set me free!

I’m free!

I’m free!

Thank you!

Thank you!

I’m free!

I’m finally free!

Thank you Jesus!

I am so glad I did not end my life!

Suicide is not the answer!

Jesus You are the answer!

I have new life!

I have new joy!

 I have new hope!

I have new peace!

I am free!

I am finally free!

“THE SPIRIT of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed and qualified me to preach the Gospel of good tidings to the meek, the poor, and afflicted; He has sent me to bind up and heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the [physical and spiritual] captives and the opening of the prison and of the eyes to those who are bound,

To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord [the year of His favor] [a]and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn,

To grant [consolation and joy] to those who mourn in Zion–to give them an ornament (a garland or diadem) of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, the garment [expressive] of praise instead of a heavy, burdened, and failing spirit–that they may be called oaks of righteousness [lofty, strong, and magnificent, distinguished for uprightness, justice, and right standing with God], the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”
