ANNOUNCING MY NEW BOOK – “UNWALLED POETRY – A DIFFERENT DEVOTIONAL EXPERIENCE”

2

Good morning all!

Are you looking for a devotional that’s different and that will give you a different, yet meaningful devotional experience; a devotional that’s relatable, enjoyable, and based on life’s realities, yet grounded in the Word, challenging and impactful to your spiritual growth and practical understanding of God?

I am pleased to announce the release of my new book, Unwalled Poetry – A Different Devotional Experience published by Christian Living Books.

In February of 2010, I started “Unwalled” to encourage, edify, and inspire the Body of Christ in the Bahamas and beyond.

To vary the blog’s content, I occasionally posted original poems birthed out of my own experiences as well as those of others that spoke to various spiritual, personal, and social issues in an easy-to-read relatable way.

The result was that God used the poems to minister to and bless the lives of persons all around the world.

Unwalled Poetry is a collection of poems from “Unwalled” compiled in one volume just for you.

Apart from its content, what makes this book unique is that unlike other poetry books, it is specially formatted for you to read and meditate on one poem and its related scripture a day, making it a different and exciting devotional.

After reading each poem and scripture, I invite you to reflect on and answer the following two questions:

  • What do you believe God is speaking to your heart?
  • How will you apply this revelation to your life?

Taking this additional step will further enrich your devotional experience, challenge you to a deeper walk with the Lord and increase your spiritual growth.

Unwalled Poetry also works well as a group devotion/discussion tool. A poem and accompanying scripture can be chosen for the group to read, then each person can share what they believe God is saying to them and how they plan to apply the revelation to their life.

In short, Unwalled Poetry is a book for persons who are looking for a devotional that’s different and that will give them a different, yet meaningful devotional experience.

Unwalled Poetry is available online in paperback and as an e-book at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Smashwords, Google Books and other distributors worldwide.

(Remember, you don’t need to own a Kindle to read Kindle books or a Nook Tablet to read Nook books, you can use free apps on your phone or device, or just read it using an internet browser.)

It’s available locally in the Bahamas at The Bible Book & Gift Center – Palmdale Shopping Plaza, The Hallmark Store – The Mall at Marathon, and Logos Bookstore – Harbour Bay Shopping Center, East Bay Street, or from me personally.

It is my prayer that God uses Unwalled Poetry to encourage hearts, edify spirits, and inspire souls all around the world…that He uses it to lead persons into a richer, deeper, fuller relationship with Him and with others…that He uses it to birth indelible change in lives for His honor and glory.

Whether used for morning contemplation, afternoon stimulation or evening relaxation, individually or in a small group, Unwalled Poetry will be a blessing to you.

Be encouraged to buy your copy today.

Here’s the Amazon link allowing you to buy, share and preview Unwalled Poetry.

CAST YOUR NETS AGAIN

CAST YOUR NETS AGAIN

CAST YOUR NETS AGAIN!

Like Peter, you have cast your nets into the water time and time again with no fruit, no impact, no true effect.

You have tried and tried and tried, but nothing has worked, even though you know that the thing that you seek to do is of Me and from Me.

Time and time again you were at the point of giving up, walking away, leaving it alone…but you could not.

Time and time again, a looming cloud of discouragement threatened to quench the fire of zeal in your soul…but it could not.

It could not because I did not allow the flame of desire in your heart to go out, for indeed what you seek to do is of Me and from Me.

While you sought to cause it to be, I sought to cause you to become.

While you sought to make it, I sought to make you.

While you sought to prepare for it, I sought to prepare you for it.

While you sought to build it, I sought to build you.

SELAH!

Now that you are internally where I need you to be, I say to you, cast your nets again.

Cast them out again for this time you will catch a draught that you can not contain; a draught so large that you will need others to assist you.

Do not be discouraged.

Cast your nets again for this time, you will catch that which has seemingly been evading you.

Be encouraged!

OVERWHELMED?…THIS MAY HELP YOU – PART 2

OVERWHELMED?…THIS MAY HELP YOU

PART 2

IT’S IMPORTANT TO FIND THE RIGHT BALANCE

(Ecclesiastes 3:1-8; Romans 8:14; Luke 14:26)

Do you feel overwhelmed?

Do you feel like your life is out of balance?

This is the last part of the post that I originally posted in April of 2010 and August 2013 but felt a need to repost again to help Believers who find themselves overwhelmed because of imbalance in their lives.

Be blessed!

Kim

==============

In each time and season of our lives, we need to seek God’s direction as to where we should be, when we should be there and what we should be doing, and upon receiving this information to, by God’s grace, make it a priority to act on it.

Such spirit-directed life adjustments will enable us to come to our place of right balance.

Jesus prioritized his whereabouts and tasks according to the timing and will of His Father.  He found His place of right balance by listening to and obeying His Father at all times, in all places and in all things; He never tried to be a people pleaser, nor did He prioritize pleasing Himself.

Like Jesus, our ultimate priority in life should also be to do the will of our heavenly Father as revealed by the Holy Spirit at all times, in all places, and in all things, no matter how “big” or “small” and then we too will experience our right balance.

Please be warned though, that embarking on such a lifestyle is not without a price. As you seek to emulate Christ’s example of obedience, turbulence from others will come.

It may come in the form of opposition, rejection, criticism, expressed anger, expressed hurt, expressed disappointment, being despised, being accused of insensitivity or of “changing”, being the object of gossip and slander, even death, – whatever the form, you can rest assured that turbulence will come.

It came for Jesus as a result of His lifestyle of obedience to our Father, and if we follow His example, it will come for us too.

Some of the turbulence that Jesus experienced as a result of His obedience to our Father’s will was that He was despised, rejected, the brunt of anger, the object of controversy, viewed as a trouble-maker, the religious order of the day was totally against Him and plotted to kill Him, He was called a wine-bibber, accused of being demon possessed, looked down upon for being with those considered “nobodies”, He was mocked, ridiculed, scorned, spit upon and eventually crucified.

Like it did with Jesus, when you make a decision to be in the right place at the right time doing the right thing as determined by God, at some point, turbulence from others will arise.

It will arise because in making this choice, no matter how noble your intentions and righteous your actions in the eyes of the Lord, it is inevitable that some people, whether, family, friends, fellow Believers, associates, co-workers, neighbors, or whomever, will experience or interpret them negatively, and not hesitate to communicate this to you in some way, especially if you are not able to meet or accommodate their expectations, desires, requests, demands or needs.

When this happens, remember that it is all a part of the price of being Spirit-led, it is all a part of the price of being a mature son of God, it is all a part of taking up your cross and following after Christ so do not be discouraged.

Know ahead of time that when you embark on this lifestyle, not everyone will accept your decisions and not everyone will like or understand you, especially those who have no experience in living life in this way, and that it’s okay.

Like Jesus, we need to have a mind to endure any turbulence from others that may arise and with the help of the Holy Spirit to not be angered, offended, or distracted by it, for when we view experiencing such turbulence from a Kingdom perspective, it truly is a “small” price to pay considering the resulting benefits of our obedience in this life and in eternity.

As Kingdom Citizens/Believers in Christ, a key to finding the right balance in our lives is being in the right place at the right time doing the right thing as determined by God.

It’s a God thing. It’s all about Him. It’s all about His will being done in each time, season and situation of our lives, not our will and not anyone else’s.

Today if you find yourself in a place of imbalance, why not pray and ask the Lord to enlighten you about your state and then make a decision to do whatever He says is necessary to achieve what He defines as the right balance for you.

Remember however, this not a one shot deal. It is a lifestyle and a life-long process and among other things, it will take commitment, effort, determination, “stick ability”, knowing the Word, dying to self, dying to being a “people pleaser”, a whole lot of prayer, a whole lot of help from the Holy Spirit, and maybe some Kleenex (smile!).

This may sound like a lot, but the good news is that based on Jesus’ life, the results of such obedience and balance will be worth it both in this life and the next.

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh our souls.]
Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest (relief and ease and refreshment and recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls.

(Matthew 11:28-29 AMPC)

Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track.

(Proverbs 3:5-6 MSG)

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

==============

Today we live in an extremely demanding age with a myriad of voices constantly calling out after us.

They call out after our mental, emotional, physical, social and spiritual resources, after our money, our attention, our time, and sometimes even after our sense of sanity.

They call out after our mental, emotional, physical, social and spiritual resources, after our money, our attention, our time, and sometimes even after our sense of sanity.

They call out through family, friends, church, employers, co-workers, social organizations, neighbors, television, radio, Internet, newspapers, magazines, social media, smart phones, electronic devices,  and the list goes on.

They say, “come here”, “go there”, “buy this”, “eat that”, “dress like this”, “you must have that”, “give this”, “read this”, “spend time here”, “never go there”, “join us”, “email me”, “text me”,”message me”, “follow me”, “listen to me”, “like me”, “do this”, “do that”, “do the next…and on and on and on.

We are seemingly bombarded with endless demands, and we can not be all things to all people, so the question is:

How do we find the right balance in all of this?

From a Kingdom perspective, I believe that a key to finding the right balance is:

Being in the right place at the right time doing the right thing as determined by God.

Jesus’ life was a perfect demonstration of this. He was always in the right place at the right time doing the right thing as determined by God, our Father, not as determined by His disciples, family, friends, emotions, circumstances, or even crises.

For example, in John chapter 11 when Jesus heard that Lazarus was extremely sick, He did not drop everything and rush off to heal him, but instead, remained where He was for two more days before leaving to deal with the issue.

If you read the account, in verse 2, the scripture makes it a point to let us know that the Lazarus who was sick was the brother of Mary who had anointed Jesus with the precious ointment and wiped his feet with her hair, in verse 3 it makes it clear that Jesus loved Lazarus, and in verse 5, it makes it clear that he also loved Mary and Martha.

Nevertheless, in spite of the circumstance and who it involved, Jesus did not allow the relationships or emotions to move Him out of divine position or timing. He got His instructions from God, our Father, and simply did as directed.

What do you think you would you have done in this circumstance?

Had Jesus succumbed to the emotion and the pressure of the situation, He would have lost His place of right balance, gotten out of the position and timing of God and aborted the purpose of the event which according to verse 4 of John 11 was, “for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby”.

Have you ever aborted the purpose of a situation because you were not Spirit led?

Jesus’ life was driven by doing His Father’s will.

In fact in John 6:38, He says that He came down from heaven “not to do His own will but the will of the one who sent Him”. His life personified right balance because He always sought to obey God our Father at all times no matter the situation, who it involved or the probable consequences.

If we desire to find the right balance in our lives, we need to approach life as Jesus did and have a Spirit-driven, not people, emotion, or circumstance driven lifestyle.

In this whole process of finding the right balance, there is a fundamentally important point to take note of:

There is no universal state of right balance; finding the right balance is a very personal, God-defined thing.

In other words, what is the right balance for you may not necessarily be the right balance for me and, what is the right balance for me may not necessarily be the right balance for you.

It is important to keep this in mind because it minimizes the temptation to be judgmental about other people’s decisions, and it also reminds us that we are each personally responsible for finding the right balance in our own lives and no one else can do it for us.

Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track.

(Proverbs 3:5-6 MSG)

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh our souls.]
Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest (relief and ease and refreshment and recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls.

WHAT IN THE WORLD IS HAPPENING IN MY LIFE!!

WHAT IN THE WORLD IS HAPPENING IN MY LIFE!!

Are you wondering what is happening in your life, why you’re going through what you’re going through?

I received the following prophetic word by Elaine Tavolacci this morning via my subscription to her website, http://www.awordinseason.info. which I believe is a timely word for you and as such am re-blogging it with her permission.

DON’T FIGHT THE PROCESS – LET GOD RE-MAKE YOU

]

THE MASTER POTTER

By Elaine Tavolacci

March 4, 2017

The Holy Spirit showed me a lump of clay on a potter’s wheel. The potter began to spin the wheel as he molded and shaped the piece of clay as he formed it. When making pottery on a potter’s wheel, the clay has to first be centered, then water is applied before the potter begins his creation. The potter then shapes the clay into the image that he desires. There are different wheels used to create different vessels. The Lord has designed each one of us in a distinct way with a specific calling. Each person is created for a unique purpose and plan.

The Lord told Jeremiah to go down to the Potters house to give him a prophetic illustration. When he went, he had seen the potter making something at the wheel. The clay vessel that the potter had made was marred in his hands; so he made it again into another vessel, as it seemed good to the potter to make. Many people don’t understand the process of the potter’s wheel. The potter’s wheel is not to judge us or punish us, but it is to form us into the masterpiece that Jesus has created us to be.

The Lord says; just as the potter designs each clay pot into different shapes and sizes, I have designed and created every individual. Every person has been born with a unique purpose and plan. Each of you have been strategically designed for a particular purpose, and I will work with each of you in a specific way. Do not fear the potter’s wheel and do not refuse it, for this is My workmanship. This is the place where I am molding you and conforming you into My image. This is the place where all impurities and defilement will be destroyed and all bruises and blemishes will be erased. This is the place where the rough edges will be smooth out, broken vessels will be restored and old mindsets will be dismantled. Afflictions, traumas and misfortunes from the past will be removed, and dreams will be birth and brought forth. This is the place where your mind will be renewed and you will learn to walk in integrity and maturity. This place is necessary for your spiritual growth to bring forth the gifts that I have placed on the inside of you.

Do not refuse the work on the potters wheel but allow Me to transform you as I shape your life and destiny. Trust Me when the process seems too difficult. Don’t say that this is an uncomfortable place, but know that it is for your benefit and it is necessary to bring you in to the fulfillment of My plans. Do not resist the work that I am doing on the inside of you, but allow Me to accomplish My perfect will through you. Allow Me to work with you and fashion you into My image. I Am the master potter and as you allow Me, I will design your life so that you will become all that I have created you to be. You will become a glorious vessel of honor, and others will see the brilliance of the transformed life that I am creating in you. I desire to make something beautiful out of your life as you allow Me to work in you and through you says the Lord.

Ecclesiastes 3:11
He has made everything beautiful in its time.

Isaiah 29:16
Surely you have things turned around! Shall the potter be esteemed as the clay; For shall the thing made say of him who made it, “He did not make me”? Or shall the thing formed say of him who formed it, “He has no understanding”?

Isaiah 64:8
But now, O Lord, You are our Father; We are the clay, and You our potter; And all we are the work of Your hand.

Jeremiah 18:1-4
The word which came to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying:” Arise and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will cause you to hear My words.” Then I went down to the potter’s house, and there he was, making something at the wheel. And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter; so he made it again into another vessel, as it seemed good to the potter to make.

A Word In Season – http://www.awordinseason.info.

In 2012, I came across this short video called “In the Potter’s Hands” by Pastor Steve Hill that I believe may shed some light on your perplexity and be a blessing to you.

Now be blessed by Darlene Zschech and Hillsong as they sing “The Potters Hand”

It may seem really hard sometimes, but don’t fight the process.

Let God re-make you to fit His purpose and destiny for your life.

By His grace, you can!

WHAT ARE YOU WEARING?

WHAT ARE YOU WEARING?

WELL-DRESSED MEN?

WELL-DRESSED MEN?

WELL DRESSED WOMEN?

WELL-DRESSED WOMEN?

What Are You Wearing?

As people of God, it’s amazing how we can be so concerned about what we wear physically, yet not be as concerned about our spiritual clothing.

On a daily basis, we look at our natural clothing and decide what we will wear. It is not even unusual for us to find out the dress code of special events then go to great lengths to prepare in advance what we will wear to make sure that we go “looking right”.

But do we do the same with our spiritual clothing?

Are you as concerned about your spiritual wardrobe as you are about your natural wardrobe?

When you plan what you will wear each day, is your plan inclusive of what you will be wearing spiritually, or is it limited to the clothes in your closet?

Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that we shouldn’t be concerned about our physical appearance and clothing.

However, as people of God, we need to beware that our concern for our natural clothing does not take precedence over our concern for what we are wearing in the spirit and that is, therefore radiating from our being.

God is far more concerned about how we’re dressed in the spirit than how we’re dressed in the natural.

As a matter of fact, He’s so concerned that He has provided some specially designed spiritual clothing for us and actually instructs us to take off the old clothing that we came into the Kingdom wearing and to put on these new garments that are now available for us.

So, what are some of the old garments that God instructs us to put off? What are some of the things that many of us came into the Kingdom wearing that we need to get rid of?

Colossians 3:8 (KJV) tells us to, “Put off anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, and filthy communication out of our mouths”.

Are you still wearing any of these?

Well if you are, it is time to update your spiritual wardrobe.

Think about it.

What good is it if we are all dressed up and accessorized in the natural, perhaps even with fragrant perfume and cologne on too, yet get angry or vexed and fly off into a rage for every little thing, have a nasty attitude, harbor unforgiveness, have bad and depraved ways, are mean, proud, unloving, speak evil about others and even God, and have filthy communication coming out of our mouths?

What good is it for us to be dressed up and “stylin” in the natural, yet “raggedy” in the spirit? – How profitable is that?

The answer is – not profitable at all!

As a matter of fact, if at any time this profile depicts you or me in any way, even though we may think that we look good and are well-dressed because our bodies are adorned in the latest styles and fashion, as far as God is concerned we simply look like ragamuffins – SELAH!

So then, what are some of the new garments that God has designed and made available for us to wear?

Colossians 3:12-14 (NIV) tells us: “Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.”

In God’s eyes, when we put on mercy, compassion, kindness, humbleness, meekness, longsuffering, forgiveness and love, then we are well-dressed.

In His eyes, when we step out in these spiritual garments, no matter how plain, out of style, simple, old or tattered our natural garments may be, we are “well-dressed”, “elegant”, “dapper”, “looking sharp”…we are “saying something”.

So, Kingdom Ambassador, What are you wearing?

Are you still in those old-fashioned, outdated clothes from the other kingdom, or are you adorned in new garments made especially for you by our King?

Remember, what we wear spiritually overshadows what we wear physically.

Even if clothed well physically, if we’re not clothed well spiritually, we are not truly well-dressed.

When dressing each day, let’s reach into the King’s closet first and put on the garments that He has provided for us, then move on and select our natural clothing.

If we do this, we will unquestionably be well-dressed.

What are you wearing?

Shalom!
