THOUGHTS ABOUT A UNIQUE KINGDOM

THOUGHTS ABOUT A UNIQUE KINGDOM

The other day as I sat on the patio of my mother’s house looking at the beautiful cloudless blue sky (we in the Bahamas are so blessed!), I thought about how unique the Kingdom of God is and how privileged we are as Believers in Jesus Christ to be a part of it.

The Kingdom of God is such an awesome kingdom to be a part of.

It is an eternal kingdom, a kingdom without end, a kingdom that was and is and ever shall be. It is kingdom that perpetually stands forever; it will never be defeated, destroyed or overthrown.

It is a kingdom whose King, God, is ruler of the universe.

Psalm 47:2 tells us that He is the lord Most High, the great King over all the earth.  Psalm 103:19 tells us that He has established His throne in heaven and His kingdom rules over all.

Unlike in other kingdoms, in the Kingdom of God, our King is always available to each citizen at all times.

As a matter of fact He personally promised each citizen that He would never leave them nor forsake them and said He is with them always, even to the end of the age.

In the Kingdom of God, it is not necessary to travel to see our King, nor is it necessary to make an appointment to get an audience with him.  He is always there for His citizens every minute of each day, 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year. All we need to do is to call upon Him in prayer.

The Kingdom of God is an awesome kingdom to be a part of because unlike in other kingdoms, our King has a personal relationship with each member/citizen of the kingdom.

As a matter of fact the relationship is so personal that He knew each citizen before they were born and actually helped to form them and to knit them together while they were in their mothers’ wombs.

It is so personal that He receives each new citizen of the Kingdom as His own child, so they become children of the King. This is because the Kingdom of God is not just about government and rulership according to God’s ways, purposes and plans, but it is also about a diverse family with an incredibly loving Father.

In the Kingdom of God, not only does our King, have a personal relationship with each citizen/child, but he also knows and is interested in everything about each one of them.

He knows and is interested in all their needs, desires, concerns, dreams, strengths, weaknesses, and even details such as the numbers of the hairs on each one of their heads. He communicates intimately with each one of His citizens/children about their lives in order to help them be all that He designed them to be and have all that He purposed for them to have as citizens of His Kingdom.

In addition to this, He also personally makes provision to fill each of them with His Holy Spirit so that they can have His power readily available to help them in every aspect of their lives.

What a King! What a Kingdom!

Do you know of any other King or kingdom like this?

As Believers in Jesus Christ, we are privileged and blessed to be a part of the Kingdom of God and to have God, the creator and chief executive officer of the universe as our Father and King.

These are just some thoughts I decided to share with you today; there is so, so much more to know and understand about this unique Kingdom that we are a part of and it’s King.

I hope reading this post has in some way helped you to appreciate who you are, whose you are and what you have access to as a Believer in Jesus Christ and Kingdom citizen.

Blessings!

SOMETHING’S MISSING INSIDE

The Void

You’ve got the cool car, the job, the promotion,

You’ve got the degree and the house by the ocean,

You’ve got the new spouse and baby too,

But there’s something still missing inside of you.

You hang with the in crowd you’re “stylin” straight through,

When it comes to the latest no one can touch you,

Clothes, hair, cell phone, music, whatever it may be,

You’ve got it going on but you’re still unhappy.

In the middle of the night the questions run deep,

How come I have all of this and I can’t even sleep?

I have everything I want and in which I delight,

But I’m empty inside so I can’t be alright.

Now it’s not only at night but at daytime too,

The questions and discomfort are really bugging you,

Outside praise for your lifestyle continues to flow,

But deep on the inside you’re ready to blow.

Frantically you search and call out with a plea,

Who or what on this earth can deliver me?

I’ve done all I can think of and I’m still a mess

And the worse thing of all is people think I’m so blessed.

Hey my brother, my sister, listen up and don’t doubt,

It’s that God created void that’s beginning to shout,

In His love, mercy, grace and sovereign will,

He’s reserved a space in you that He wants to fill.

It’s His Holy Spirit that’s been tugging at your heart,

Only a relationship with God will satisfy that empty part,

Receive Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord today,

And all of that inner nagging will vanish away.

It may not seem “off the chain” “hip” or “all that” but you see,

It’s the only proven, tried, true and sure remedy,

So please don’t hesitate whatever you do,

He’s here today patiently waiting just for you.

“For he satisfieth the longing soul and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.” – Psalm 107:9 (KJV)

“For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved.” – Romans 10:9,10 (NLT)

HARDHEADED BILL

Hardheaded Bill

His name was William his friends called him Bill,

He was still young, not quite over the hill,

His wife Sue, concerned about his eternal fate,

Pleaded, “Honey please accept the Lord before it’s too late”.

“I’ll get saved later Sue!” Bill sharply said,

His words cut through her spirit and hit her like lead,

“I’m successful, I’m healthy, I’m happy, I’m free,

I will not be tied down by that old drudgery.”

So Bill kept on going his own merry way,

He slept, ate, drank, worked and rose up to play,

But little did he know that the next day at four,

The death angel would visit and be knocking at his door.
